Addison Mary-Jane Morrison is my other niece. She just turned 3. She is my brother’s daughter…she is part of the “A-team” (Adam, Ashley and Addy). I call her Midgey or The Midge. She always tries to correct me and say “No, I’m Addy” and I say back to her “Too bad kiddo, because Auntie calls you Midgey so get used to it!”
She loves to paint and to dance. Like me, the first thing she wants to do when she wakes up is have a dance party. I can totally relate to that urge. When I stay over at their house I usually get woken up pretty early to busta-bust a move with her. LOVE IT! She has some sweet dance moves. I can’t even mimic some of them because Auntie does not bend that way. In fact the last time I was there she woke me up around 8am and wanted to watch a movie. We were downstairs in my brother’s section of the house (Poker Table, 2 Pinball machines, huge couch and a wall of flat screens and Xbox cords. Not to mention a pretty epic surround sound system.) and she picked a movie out. What does she hand me? Micheal Jackson’s “This is it”!! YEAH!!!!!!!! You wanna be startin’ something is way more fun to dance to with a 3 year old. Take my word for it. Oh Addy- unabashedly shaking her groove thang! That is my kind of girl.
She has always loved to paint. When the A-Team lived down in LA they stayed in a condo on the beach. (AMAZING!)When I would visit, Midgey and I would sit out on their sunny patio and paint along to the sounds of the waves. I painted this star painting that now hangs in her room in 2 days. Whenever I tell her I am coming over she usually asks me if we are going to paint. You betcha, kiddo! In fact, we started a painting together. It stays at her house but she only gets to work on it when I am there. She is doing most of it…I just dictate the colors she uses. I am going to take over at the end and turn it into something EPIC and hang it up in my house. I love that she is so creative. Her mom has a cool craft room in the house with lots of fun things to get creative with. Ashley is a budding artist herself so I love that The Midge has inherited that.
She looks just like her beautiful momma but she acts just like her Daddy. Don’t ever be on the receiving end of one of her ‘looks’. Uhhhhh not sure where she got that from (*cough Adam cough*)
Did I mention she is going to be a big sister? Yep! Baby A is due in July. She wanted a brother. Probably because she beats up on Treshon and assumes a baby brother will give her a live-in punching bag. She is a bit bossy and sassy. Which I love. She tells it like it is…well as much as a 3-year old can.
So those are my 3 chitlins. Love them. They are my joy.
